Certes\, les obligations professionnelles qui nous\nincombent\, quel que soit notre type d’exercice\, sont multiples\,\nastreignantes\, complexes\, parfois même à la limite de l’absurde.\nPour autant\, nous ne pouvons y échapper dans notre système\nde médecine conventionnelle très administrativement contrôlée.\nAinsi\, les obligations plus ou moins opposables qui nous sont\nfaites par l’administration et ses agences doivent être connues des\ninstances professionnelles et peuvent toujours être négociées\,\nadaptées à nos réalités\, modifiées voire même combattues s’il le\nfaut\, mais avec des arguments cohérents\, structurés\, réfléchis et\nscientifiquement irréfutables. Cette attitude non systématiquement\noppositionnelle peut porter ses fruits car l’administration sait\nparfois écouter les contre-propositions cohérentes et modifier\nses projets en les prenant en compte. C’est cela le pragmatisme\nprofessionnel : une réponse à nos tutelles qui soit adaptée à la\n« vraie vie » des chirurgiens orthopédistes français.\nNotre groupe professionnel doit apparaître sous sa double\nfacette d’organisme professionnel et scientifique\, en parallèle\net en osmose. Ce dernier rôle est celui principalement dévolu à\nl’Académie d’Orthopédie. En participant activement\, chacun\, junior\nen formation ou sénior confirmé\, doit offrir sa disponibilité\, son\nsavoir et son expérience et devenir et/ou se sentir académicien.\nL’année scientifique se terminera sur notre rendez-vous national\nincontournable\, le congrès de novembre 2017 qui se déroulera du\nlundi 6 (journée DPC Orthorisq et conférences d’enseignement)\nau jeudi 9\, avec le Québec comme province invitée. Mais\ndurant les mois qui précèdent\, les invitations scientifiques sont\nnombreuses et incontournables: les séances de e-learning sont\nvenues enrichir nos possibilités de progression personnelle\net sont à insérer dans nos agendas; de même les réunions des\ndifférentes sociétés partenaires et associées qui sont les reflets\nde toutes les facettes de notre profession ; et bien entendu\, les\ntravaux en concertation avec nos instances et multiples agences\nde tutelle\, ANSM\, HAS\, DGOS\, et autres organismes\, sociétés\nscientifiques de spécialités réunies au sein de la FSM\, syndicats\nprofessionnels industriels (SNITEM\, AFIDEO)\, para-médicaux\,\netc… Les chirurgiens orthopédistes doivent être présents partout\,\nla politique de la chaise vide étant la pire qui soit\, en particulier\nen ces temps troublés de réforme de la formation de nos futurs\ncollègues et de possibles changements fondamentaux de notre\nsystème de santé dans l’année électorale qui s’approche…\nVoilà les rôles dévolus au CNP-SoFCOT\, véritable lobby\nprofessionnel bien structuré et légitime car représentatif de\nl’ensemble de la profession: cette recherche du consensus est\nla seule voie efficace pour résister\, exister et croître. DESCRIPTION:Motion is Life\nis the congress theme of the German Congress of Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery 2017. Motion is a fundamental condition for our health – beginning with the various processes occurring every second in our body and finally resulting in the movement of our extremities. The loss of motion leads to functional deficits\, to the loss of mobility and to a serious restriction of the quality of life. Keeping our motion and regaining lost motion is therefore one of the key goals of orthopedic and trauma surgery. \nSports and Motion have manifested themselves in our society as important topics for many years now. Many of us are exercising sport to keep fit and for having fun; many elderly people want to keep up with the younger generation. Topics such as popular and professional sports with their potential risks\, the treatment of sport injuries\, but also their prevention are essential contents of the congress of orthopedic and trauma surgery. \nRegardless of age acute and chronic joint pain results in a restriction of joint motion. Regaining this lost motion through conservative treatment methods\, by joint-preserving measures but also by joint replacing operations are central parts of the modern orthopedic surgery. Similarly\, accidents cause motion restrictions\, pain and loss of mobility; muscle and soft tissue damage result in functional disturbances and can lead to a compromised circulation. Multiple severe injuries and their acute blood loss can finally result in a life-threatening cardiac arrest. The prevention of these sequela and the restoration of anatomy and function are the central part of the surgical treatment. \nOrthopedic and Trauma surgery incorporate a wide range of conservative treatment options\, joint preserving and joint reconstructing procedures including minimal-invasive surgical procedures\, optimized implants and joint replacing therapies. This is made possible by understanding the process of soft tissue healing and the origin of acute and chronic illnesses. \nThe various fields of orthopedic and trauma surgery with the underlying mechanisms as well as differentiated diagnostic tools and therapy and also the prevention and rehabilitation are topics of the DKOU 2017. The participation of the United States of America as this year’s guest nation will be a valuable enrichment for the congress\, which is become more and more international each year. \nAside from the scientific topics\, contemporary issues such as economical problems and the increasing regulation of education and working conditions will be discussed. The various societies\, sections and working groups will get the possibility to present their achievements and are invited for inter-collegial exchange. \nYou all are warmly welcome to participate with abstract submissions and attendance of our meeting. Already today we would like to draw your attention to the German Congress of Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery 2017 in Berlin. DESCRIPTION:WHAT IS SECOT? \nThe Spanish Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (SECOT)\nIt is a scientific medical association that promotes the advancement of scientific knowledge and the central role of the Orthopedic Surgeon – Traumatologist with the aim of promoting\, creating and communicating the knowledge of the locomotor apparatus to guarantee mobility\, health and quality of life of patients . \nThe Society\, founded on July 6\, 1935 … \nIt aims to combine the interests of medical specialists to promote the development of the medical-surgical specialty of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology\, stimulating and contributing to their teaching\, based on the ethical principles of Medicine and professional practice\, and their research . In order to meet these objectives\, SECOTpurses the presentation of topics related to the specialty through the organization of annual congresses\, training courses and scientific meetings\, focusing on the disciplines that constitute or are related to the specialty\, stimulating relations with all Specialists and facilitating the exchange of their professional\, scientific and cultural experiences.\nSECOT is the largest COT society in Spain and is represented by the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopedics and Traumatology (EFORT).\nIt also establishes and maintains relationships with other homologous Societies and collaborates with various public and private institutions in all aspects related to our specialty.\nIn 1991\, The Spanish Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology is the SECOT Foundation\, created with the purpose of reinforcing the strategic line of the Society\, contributing in the stimulation of the research and teaching of the specialty\, as well as promoting the work of the Professionals who practice it.\nTo this end\, the Foundation focuses its purpose on Continuing Medical Education of all resident doctors and specialists in COT\, annually grants scholarships to carry out research projects\, grants and scholarships; Promote publications\, exhibitions and other cultural activities\, participating in the development of the activities of other entities that carry out activities coincident or complementary with those of the Foundation itself\, as well as any others that may be conducive to the realization of its own purpose.

DESCRIPTION:The Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) is an international non-profit consortium of health care centers and individuals who are dedicated to the development\, evaluation and improvement of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and other innovative therapies for support of failing organ systems in the neonate\, child and adult. ELSO is made up of a broad multidisciplinary collaboration of physicians\, nurses\, perfusionists\, respiratory therapists\, technicians\, researchers\, and industry experts. Global chapters of ELSO provide education and expertise in ECMO delivery around the world.
