SUMMARY:International Breast Symposium Dusseldorf (ISBD)
DESCRIPTION:Dear Friends and Colleagues\,\nI would like to personally invite you again to the 5th International Breast Symposium Düsseldorf (IBSD) at the InterContinental Hotel situated at the Königsallee in Düsseldorf. \nAgain\, we have been able to recruit national and international experts with a great deal of experience in all areas of aesthetic as well as reconstructive breast surgery. \nThe 5th Symposium will be different and new for scientific conferences. Our goal is to to accomplish lively scientific controversial discussions together with the participants and the faculty. Instead of having mainly front talks\, we will focus on pro- and contra sessions to take the great opportunity to strengthen the multidisciplinary approach between the colleagues to create a platform for an open discussion from different perspectives. \nFurther we will have parallel teaching sessions lead by renowned plastic surgeons or gynecologist\, to provide hands-on and interactive courses for young breast surgeons and gynecologists in their clinic or private practices. \nKey note lectures and a special topic by David Jay regarding the Scar Project will round up the Symposium. \nThe 5th Symposium will address the following topics relative to surgical indications and selection of appropriate techniques for breast surgery: \nAesthetic breast surgery:\n Teaching hands-on sessions\n Different ways of marking for primary augmentations\n Epipectoral versus subpectoral implant positioning\n Lipofilling no limits versus with limits\n Different ways of approaching complications \nReconstructive breast surgery:\n Teaching hands-on sessions for autologous tissue and Ultrasound\n Oncoplastic surgery\n Capsular contracture and how to avoid it\n Direct to implant or two stage breast reconstruction\n BCT versus Mastectomy and Reconstruction: is the outcome comparable?\n Do we need RXT after BCT in the elderly?\n Experiences with ADM and Meshes \nThe symposium venue\, situated on the famous Königsallee\, provides again a very special atmosphere and have the possibility to enjoy the city. \nI would also like to express my gratitude to the members of the faculty.
