The EHS grows steadily and the society is in the middle of a revolution to bring together all European surgeons and researchers of the Abdominal Wall. The development of a concrete educational plan and the promotion of scientific research are among our goals. We are definitely in a phase of change where we are working hard to turn into an active society, which can offer something more than an annual congress.

However, without any doubt, the EHS congresses are part of the history and the future of the society. They mean a meeting point for surgeons from Europe and all over the world to show the present and the development of the Abdominal Wall surgery. In Vienna, we will enjoy the friendly bonds that have been created by Hernia surgery, and we will strengthen these bonds, which unite the different corners of Europe, away from the politic and other factors, where the cultural differences only unite us more and let us learn from each other.
